I need to apologize to you. When I viewed your video, I thought that you were stoned and made a comment to that effect on the Pearson Triton Discussion Group. That was yesterday evening. Since then, two people have writen me scathing emails telling me that I was a bitch. I don’t really know if you were stoned or not, and if you were not stoned, I apologize. I wish you luck in your boat renovations! If you hate me, I completely understand. I’m also a little confused– it sounds like you want to rig the tiller to extend into the cabin and build a bench seat across the companionway inside. I’m not quite sure how that will work. Could you try to explain it again?

Hey Kristin,
Thanks for the apology, not necessary. My goal with the videos is to gain publicity, you helped. Plus it’s the internet and damn near everything on it is fake anyways. I was not stoned in this video and actually spent all my money this month on the boat, except a few groceries. The tiller will not extend into the companionway, however the tiller extension will, and my arm will extend out.

Yoh Dude, been there, done that, over and over, but it finally got done. You do know that vinal ester resin is still available and cheaper than epoxy, the boat is made out of it. What is your hull number, mine is @140, east coast. Looks like Florida

Hey Hey,
Vinal ester resin? never heard of it, did you use it? I’m hull #451, strange little west coast boat with balsa core decks and fiberglass combing.

I was just reading over your blog, I didn’t realize that you’ve done all this work with a handicap. Way to go!
You also have a east coast Pearson built Triton, not a west coast Aeromarine Triton, which doesn’t have a balsa cored deck. Do you know the history of your boat, how she got to the west coast?
Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, the boat (hull #451) is actually a west coast boat, one of the odd balls when they changed a few construction methods, for example mine does of the balsa core decks, but has fiberglass combing. She was built for a guy in San Francisco then sailed to Hawaii and back here to the bay area where she’s been all her life according to known records.

Cool, I understand about the decks now. I look forward to your blog updates!

That’s a serious bummer that you had to fill with 5200; not fun to remove. Keep at it! Hi Nora.
